Hello,

I am currently working for a University in the UK and looking at making an interactive map of the campus that students or potential students can click on hotspots of the map e.g. sections and it will show information about it. the map can be a simple background with the hotspots placed on top. My question is can this be done within GS and also if there are any published examples i can look at in the app store not code as i can do that myself.

Yes it can be done. I am not sure about templates/demos but I am sure someone here might be able to point you to something that would be close or cover most of what you want to do.

    good luck

Well thats an interesting idea. If you open up GameSalad Search for swipe demo under the new tab. Thats a demo I made showing a larger background than the iphone screen that you can swipe around and move the camera.

That would be a good starting point. For your hotspots you could simply place invisible actors and have when touch is pressed rules that use the pause behavior to quickly load individual scenes displaying the extra info. the a back button with unpause takes you back to your map.

The base project would actually be pretty simple. You will just have to create all of the artwork.

I think the biggest drag is the text function within GS. It may be sensible to use it if you want to do updates. but its not as clean looking as images of text that are fixed in artwork. If you are organised and want to use image text it is worth having referenced photoshop files or layers in one document that you can update and then output as png files through the 'save for web or devices'. This last option is great for having keyed items as well as you can have all your icons in a master file and arrange them for each location etc.

Does that demo enable 360 degrees swipe or just horisontal or vertical?
    If not, is it possible?
