Mentor And Apprentice

That sounds a like a fun concept for a game, but that's not what I'm on about.
I was thinking that this generous community might be able to create a loose organization of Mentorships. What if us newbies could "apprentice" under the more experienced (ie: published) game creators and sous chefs in exchange for, well, what ever our skills are. Or in exchange for doing some of the less glamourous redundant work for their projects.
What made me think of this is that I would love to be able to have one talented, knowledgable person to bug with very specific questions about my first projects, and then when I "graduate" ie: publish a game, I become a mentor for the next newbie, etc.
Of course, at first the ratio of mentors to apprentices might be a little skewed, but over time, it would even out a bit.
Any way. What do you think? Could this work?

Form a Skype group of those with a similar level, or different skills that can be exchanged. By having a group that all has similar levels of understanding, you will all want to know similar things, and when one in the group discovers a solution they can share it, or if need gets to the point where no answer can be found a single question can be asked in the forum, and the answer shared. By having a group with different skill sets then you all have things to offer each other. I have a few people I do skype with and we share a great deal, and exchange skills. It works well and I now feel I have friendships as a bonus.
only my opinion...

However a video course would be cool. I mean a video explaining all about the editors, scenes, actors, attributes.... Just to get the really new guys a starting point for their game.

To be fair, I think people do this sort of thing in private. If you know what i mean...
