ok, I know it's called Gamesalad and not Booksalad, but I'm planning our next project for ios which is an interactive book for ipad.

Is there a way to elegantly make the pages swipe-able from one to the next & back again?

I toyed with the idea of using the technique that Tshirtbooth showed us for multiscreen menus, but we'd need to have a project about a mile wide for a book with more than a few pages.

Is there a tutorial out there anywhere, or is GS not the tool for this kind of project?

cheers

Matt

Here is a free template from Tshirtbooth, I'm not sure if it is what you are looking for.. it helps you make an "elegant" page flip:

Maybe GS isn't the best tool for making books.... have you tried informing yourself on making books in xcode? I doubt it requires a lot of coding and you can probably find free templates online.

A stylish page flip is not really on apart from in animation but the rest of it is pretty easy. It is not possible to apply an animation within GS that would work even as well as a pdf, but I would avoid it and use another method, then use the rest of the tools to build something really interesting.

If you build a template for the pages and with actors set up to do what you want, then copy the scene/page and then go into the instances of the actors on the copied pages it is possible to get something like this done with a reasonable amount of effort.

I've synced word highlighting with audio and animation and then had the word spoken on touch of the image of the word (also linked to animation). It took a while to set up but once I had one really good page it was fine.

    hope that helps
