Jump positioning

How can I get the game to react to where the player collides with an enemy, like in Super Mario Bros., where you kill Koopas by jumping on their head, but if their sides collide with you, you die?

    You have to constrain invisible actors to it. One on top of his head but not large enought to reach the sides.
