How to get reviews.

Last month I released an app that I'm quite proud of and I thought that it might have the potential to do well, I was wrong. It was getting about 2-3 downloads a day so I decided to set it to free for a few days with hopes that it would gain some popularity in that time. I've been getting a little more then 1,000 downloads a day but no one seems to be leaving reviews. Does anyone know the best way to get reviews? I want it to have a few good reviews before I set it back to paid so that potential costumers are a little more inclined to give it a chance.

well apple stoped reviews from promo codes, so basically you just have to hope someone will take the time to review.

You can put the pop up that says please leave a review or wahtver, but doint get annoying with it. After the user hits yes or no it should never come up again, imo at least

    Hi John,

I just left a review for Tadpole rescue. I love the graphics - really cute especially his face when he dies.
I just wish he would float upwards to his death :)

Thanks, I'll be sure to include that in the next update. :)

That list will be useful for my next game but for this one I just mainly need reviews on the itunes store.

Another thing I would like to point out because I ran into a similar situation:
You might want to make the music a bit longer with a bit more change. I'm making mine fade in and out so it doesn't get too repetitive.
Feel free to ignore my comment as it's probably mostly subjective.

Definitely have the dead frog float upwards in your next update, that would be hilarious :)
    Cheers
    Alex

Even as a developer with understanding an importance of reviews, I still don't leave them. So it is mystery for me about who leave them and why. Maybe people with a lot of free time...
