Hi Everyone,

I just bought snow leopard to update my laptop, and I'm having a problem. When I put the disk in it spins for a minute and spits back out. It's not my laptop because other discs work. And it's not the disc because it works on other computers. Can somebody help me get my disc to work please?

Thanks

some mac os disks are only for certain mac computers it will say on the disk, which should be gray. If you got the update disk that can be used on any mac it will have a snow leopard on the disk. it you got the disk that works on all macs then your computer is probably not compatible with snow leopard. You must have an intel processor and a few more requirements.

Yeah, the only thing I can think of is what Explosive Apps says, that your computer must have an Intel processor.

You can install Leopard (10.5) on a powerPC G5 or G4 processor, but not Snow Leopard.

I tried to upgrade my old G5 tower to Snow Leopard and it spit the disk out too.

I got the Mac box set which says its ment to upgrade from tiger(10.4) and thats what i have. I thought it was because of the requirements but they would work. Its really weird.

Yeah, it will upgrade from Tiger - but the processor must be Intel.

If you click About This Mac under the Apple menu, what type of processor does it say you have?

thats weird it should be working since you have intel processor. is it meant for a certain kind of mac ? (ex: does it say mac mini upgrade, macbook upgrade, or somethign like that on the disc or box?)

i would also do a google search and dig threw the results to see if anyone else has ran into a similar problem.

yeah I found one person with the exact same problem and someone said to upload on a computer that works and then plug in your laptop into the other computer using a firewire cable and select your computer for it to download on but i couldn't find the thing for it to download on an other computer so it downloaded on the other computer. I think I'm going to bring my problem to the apple store. I got it working on an other computer so I can start my game.
