i have a question about photoshop images?

i just saw this option when creating a file , the color rgb, does it matters if i choose 8 bits, 16 bits or 32 bits?

    just use 8 bit for smaller file size.

    right now i am working on 480 width pixels and then my images i am doubling the size to 1024 for the iphone 4, so should i choose like 16 or 32 bits?

    1024? For retina display images they would be 960px wide.

    ok thanks i was getting confuse by the maximum size of a image but iam doing it right then, my background is 480 but i am then making the picture for it of 960?

    @guilleface: In Photoshop you should only be working in the 8-bit color space. Like Rodrigo says, Retina display graphics are four times the size of graphics for the older iOS devices, so they need to be 960x640.

    1024x768 is for iPad graphics.
