New Niche for GS games?

The iCade, reviewed here:

Seems to be gaining a bit of popularity, if various articles, and geeks on my social networks are any indication. But they are already starving for games.

Seems all it takes to make your iPad game an iCade game is to make sure your "triggers" (movement, firing, etc,) are mapped to specific keyboard keys. This could be pretty easy update with "iCade Compatible" in the game description.

Sure, maybe not a lot of extra new downloads right away, but I think this will be a niche a lot of game creators might ignore. So the odds are good of getting a few extra sales.

Also, these games could also be played with a bluetooth keyboard, too, maybe(?).

I haven't read it yet. Not sure how it works, and if it will work with gamesalad. Fingers crossed, the game I'm making would be perfect for this, but I'll have to change it from landscape to portrait.

I've been looking into this as well. I believe the iCade works by connecting the button commands (press and release) to keys on the iOS keyboard. my thought was maybe the addition of iOS keyboard use would do the trick, but I haven't the slightest clue.

But I am a fan of arcade controls. I made my own sticks for my Dreamcast, Xbox and Mac, and it's amazing how much more enjoyable of an experience can be had with arcade sticks.
