Hello all, please forgive me if this is a basic question, and has been answered in the past.

I wanted to know if there is away so the actors occlude based on their alpha, instead of the image dimensions itself.

Or do I just have to crop perfectly?

Thanks!

yes. if you mean can you have alpha based transparency then yes. It is how it works with 24bit png files or imported photoshop files

    hope that helps

Thanks kipper, transparency is working okay.

Here is a photo that I think will better articulate my problem

See how the bunny is hovering above the ground?

That's because that's where the dimensions of the image are, even though the alpha is tighter than that.

    Thanks

Hi Andrew, yes, just crop the blank space under the hovering bunny in Photoshop.

Or don't and call your game Hover Bunny! :-)

Iooking groovy as hoover bunny.. but yes you will have to crop it, or it that is still not enough instead of sitting it on the actual platform, hide an invisible object a little lower to sit on.

Also, if you don't want to change your psd/png (i.e if its a power of 2 thing) then on the actor, go into its attributes -> graphics -> and change both horizontal and vertical wrap to FIXED. You can then scale the size of the actor on the stage without having to alter the artwork.

    Thanks everybody,
I believe I will go back to the PSD as it's all temp anyways. And this is myy first one, and I want to do it right, as i'm sure things I do later will require bandaids
