Particle craziness?

Has anyone experienced issues with the Particle generator Behavior? I'm trying it out for the first time and while it looks decent at times, sometimes the emitting angle is totally off. I've even gone to the lengths to add an After Timer to make sure the Attributes are preset before the Particles are generated, but they're still going off in one seemingly random angle (per instance, not explosion-like).

I'm trying to squeeze this in last minute into my game before I submit, but if it's still buggy, I'll leave it out.

Sorry mate, can't help you there :(

I find the particles quite hard to deal with. They worked really well for me before, but alas, no more!

    Good luck though!

I have found them to be very difficult as well! Even now that I know what all of the functions mean I struggle to get them to look good.

Yeah, it takes tweaking over-n-over to get things right. My only complaint is alot of times, the first particle emits and does its thing sometimes long before other particles follow. At other times, they all come streaming out in succession as I thought they should. Weird.

It would be neat to be able to tie an animation sequence to the particle behavior instead of just one image. It would be great for a wreckage effect like having a series of images of a simple square rotating through three dimensions to simulate panels of a space ship rolling out after a collision. It would be easier than having to animate all that by hand (i.e. single little panel versus multiple panels and an explosion).

Ha, I finally figured it out... Wait til you see what I've come up with... ;)

Knock on wood, my game and entry is almost done.

You used to be able to get some awesome particle explosions - as someone's fireworks demo showed!

Some people are able to do some nice 'ghosting' effects too. I haven't really tried as yet because, as rebump mentions, it takes a lot of tweaking and trial and error (or so it seems!).

Looking forward to what you've got lined up BTT :)
