Hopefully the first of many websites to write about it!
It's out now in all the time zones! Make sure you play with headphones, the sound is quite unique for a GS game. Also, there's no loading time between levels and menus, just nice seamless play.
Hey Jon, well the reaction of reviewers/people that have played it so far is going well. But still not many know about it. So now we have that good review from 148apps and the US games N&N - I'll see if that will convince more reviewers to write about it.
Yeah sometimes I get less done by spending too much time staring at the screen wondering what to do. There's a new album I just got that helps - calming stuff: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/ghost/id440785917
congratulations on your first game, now a question, as you've got to do a review on TouchArcade? you write an email to them? or they've seen your game and have done a review?

Came across another good review! This one's from AppAdvice:
"I had a great time playing this game thanks to the solid controls, simple gameplay, soothing music with realistic sound effects, and the beautiful hand drawn graphics. It’s a gorgeous game that kept me entertained and taught me a few new things about bees"
So have many GS forum peeps played Honey Tribe yet? It plays really smoothly and there's no loading between levels, resets and menus. The way the music interacts with the action is also unique for a GS game. Let me know how you get on with it.
Google alerts are really useful. It'll email me whenever a new review or article comes out with Honey Tribe in the title.
As the app store in international some of the stuff the alert tells me about is non-English - google translate can give some funny results when translating Vietnamese or Chinese
Anyway, here's a brief review (in English!) from ilounge.com
"Simple though the concept is, Honey Tribe manages to surpass the standards of most $1 casual games by interestingly evolving its levels, using music strategically to build tension when you’re being pursued by the bird, and varying the pacing so that the intensity builds at higher speeds"
TouchReviews gave us 4 stars - the factual side of it really appealed to them.
I'm really pleased with the reviews I've seen. They all seem to be 4 or 4.5 stars so far. Being so absorbed in the development of the game it becomes hard to be objective about it. So I found myself asking 'is it actually any good?'. So it's great to read the reviewers picking up on creative aspects that we were consciously thinking about. Stuff like the characters, how to give them personality, how to pace the factual elements, what kind of sound design would work and so on.
It's also good to hear that the controls and gameplay dynamics feel right. That's another thing we spent a lot of time on. On the surface it all looks very simple but balancing it all took a while.
I haven't had much feedback from the GS community yet. How have people been finding it? I'm finishing the first update now and wondering if I should make the endless mode easier...?
But so far my expectations have been met. Next stages will be when we release the first update and the lite version. So hopefully the increased expectations at each stage will be met!

Can you give us an approximate answer or maybe a bracket you are comfortable with sharing ? . It would be nice to see how a good GS such as yours is performing.

No I'm not releasing any sales figures... yet, sorry I might do a proper report after 3 months or so. Not sure though.
Cool! We're on the front page of pocket gamer and they gave us a great review too!
"Honey Tribe: Colony Collapse is not only a remarkably endearing little game, but it's also incredibly addictive. It's quite easy to get distracted by the simplicity of the gameplay and the sweet chirrup of the soundtrack, only to discover that you've lost an hour or two in Corbee's company."

Feels good seeing it up there on the app store. (Yes it's our debut app)
Hopefully Apple will give it a proper play and put it on the main N&N next week!
Cheers

But yeah, a break can bee good too!
Thinking to set up weekly competitions. With who ever is in 1st on the endless mode leaderboard winning an itunes voucher.
Wondering if that you means you have to beat my scores. Or is that unfair? Seeing as I made it.
