quantumsheep's .Matrixx for iPad Now out! - .Matrixx for Mac free!
For those looking for .Matrix on iTunes:
Firstly: thank you for looking for it! You’re awesome!
Secondly: sorry you can’t find it
I’d asked for an expedite from Apple so that the release coincided with the marketing effort ( twitter/facebook/previews/YouTube/press releases etc ).
I screwed up and asked for Friday 16th July ( when it should have been Friday 15th July ).
Obviously it wasn’t approved in time for Friday, and assumed that some clever spark at Apple had changed it to Saturday 16th July.
Alas this hasn’t happened.
I can only apologise for this, and I now have no idea when it’ll be released – I’ve manually set the release date to tomorrow (Sunday July 17th) and I’ll keep you posted, obviously!
Again, apologies to anyone looking forward to this, and thanks so much for your support!
Anyway, to try and make up for it, here's the Mac version, totally free:

It's the full game (without GameCenter, oviously) and though it's not quite the same (control is much MUCH better on an iPad), I hope it gives you an idea of what the game's like!
Enjoy!

It's been a traumatic day.
Typically, itunes has just set the game to 'ready for sale' - bloody hell...
Anyway, it *should* (fingers crossed) be available tomorrow - I'll keep the free version available of course.
I think the game's cursed!

Congrats QS. I played the mac version earlier quite fun I do think the touching screen would be a nice touch to play though. I got frustrated with my trackpad. LOL
With a mouse though... well, I'll let this guy fill you in:

Essentially, he's made four videos of the game, which is incredibly kind of him! I never asked for any, I guess he just really liked it!
It's really amazingly awesome when you can make something other people like! Always a surprise, and the best feeling in the world I reckon!
As I've mentioned elsewhere, I don't have high hopes for this sales wise. But it proved a point, AND it made some people happy.
I think that's worth it, personally

And it was my fault really for getting the dates mixed up! Thank you - there's about 30 people on the leaderboards so far - not a great start, but better than I expected, so that's nice.
It seems to be quite a marmite game. People seem to really love it or just not like it at all. I guess you can't please all the people all the time, dammit!
I had good fun making it and I really enjoy playing it myself - so it's been good so far!
Cheers everyone for the kind words

Just got a review from that awesome guy at Arcadelife:
http://arcadelife.wordpress.com/2011/07/18/matrixx-review-ipad/
It's really rather lovely - I do rather like this bit:
"Tron meets Evil Otto* in an addictive, genre-defying iPad exclusive!"
Genre-defying - from a template!

Kipper
P.s. I will be forwarding the bill for new skin on the end of my left index finger from over use on your d**nable game...
As to your skin, the cheque for 59p is in the post. With a tub of vaseline.
Make of that what you will! Thanks Gyro, hope you like it! You can look on some stock photo websites - I'm sure they'll have some.
Alternatively, you can pay Basil to make one for you - he's very reasonable, and I've worked with him on my last two games.
His email is: murad.basil@gmail.com
Send him some money for his scribbles!
Cheers,

Which is fine
The GameCentre figures have doubled to over 100 - an increase of over 50 sales in one go.
Which means either I've had a very good day, OR the pirates have their hooks in it!
I'll find out tomorrow
As to being scared that simple fun games won't be received well - I'd say that the foundation of your game can be simple and fun, for sure. But there has to be some kind of hook to bring you back to playing. Something to challenge you, give you a goal, and add an extra layer to the experience (well, *I* think so, anyway!).
The foundation of .Matrixx is stupidly simple - avoid the red, collect the blue. There are, I hope, nuances within that, thanks to the powerups, the constantly changing direction of the game, and the pacing, that build on that very simple foundation.
People overall seem to be enjoying it, which is always lovely to hear

EDIT - also, forgot to mention that the release got screwed up, and I offered a free version for Mac as an apology for that mix up (I refuse to blame others for it - at the end of the day it was my responsibility!)
