LMFAO. NO Being a sous shouldn't be just a popularity contest, although it is This is not really what you should be doing. Earn the title, & you may get it
The sous-chefs tend to be the adults of the forum who are sensible, thoughtful and not reactionary. Perhaps the opposite of most of the younger members of this forum.
It's not a case of being nice or not. This forum has a certain percentage of people who need telling to go and learn something for themselves or to use the search. That's not unkindness, it's just good housekeeping.
The other moan I seem to read is that people seem to think the sous-chefs should be on the forum moderating every second of the day. These guys have real lives to live. Those who do spend their lives on the forum and think they should be moderators are not for exactly that reason. People who have a real life and experiences tend to be more able to make grown up decisions about things.
So, just get back to making games and let the moderators moderate as needed.

it sounds like you are describing me ( wink)
but anyway i got real work to do as you said.. this is just for fun. thanx for all the support lol.. we'll let the "other" guys handle things as the masses wish.
and if you guys know about politics, reactionary gets things done. I react not because I'm young and immature, i react so that things that needs to be done gets brought to the attention. If you get a bunch of modorators overly protective of the system, nothing ever gets done. But anyways as I said, this is just for fun, it's sort of a practical joke campaign, hey Arnold got elected because of popularity. and I'm not even that popular.
Anyway, the sous isn't a paid position (wink again)
You've been here for only a few months, becoming a sous chef requires you to be here for at least a year, a list of attributes you need include... being considerate of others, helpful, have knowledge of the sdk and how to use it, and a lot more
I have other qualifications haha, anyway please don't take this poll too seriously, it's just for fun, like I said I do things for a reason. it gets you guys thinking about the roles of a moderator and that's all i want.
by the way i'm a business consultant(loosely described, don't want to give away anything) during my real life job, and I work on games out of pure leisure(but recently it hasn't been so enjoyable), and believe me GS needs to shake up a bit before it can become a successful platform.
GS is already an amazing platform and so far they have been very successful, if it weren't for them many of us wouldn't have an app in the awesome app store because gs is revolutionizing the way we make games instead of lines and lines of code I can create a prototype 100x faster then coding by just dragging and dropping. Not only that, gs has power, it has many features and things you can do with it. So for the little guys like us we can make finally make games without having to have several years of experience and I think that makes a successful platform already.
+ they already have a ton of users and people that make apps in the appstore
right, that's why i'm still here haha. because I believe that it has a future, but to become a successful platform you also need other elements to add to the game.. But anyway, I guess through the numerous emails that I send to the team it is confirmed that they are working towards the direction that I believe will be beneficial to them.
And most of the successful users here, WILL be successful regardless if GS existed or not, because people who tend to succeed does not depend on luck but diligent work, they WILL go out and find all possible ways to make their dream come true, and GS just happen to be there as the best choice of the time.
(BY THE WAY HAT TIPS TO WESWOG AND QS for being great moderators that's responded so far)

yes a very successful platform that's still struggling to stay successful, not yet laying on their backs and enjoying the success like some of the other major content creation brands.(at least the most successful ones aren't pulling their hairs that bad.
Success is what you define it is. and in business sense.. not yet.
And again guys don't take this poll too seriously LOL.
They also came here because they wanted a simple yet powerful sdk to use and it would be able to make there dream game in a few months rather than a few years because this sdk requires no extensive programming skills
EDIT: I am not taking this too seriously its just you dont know why people are here or if this tool is successful or not you can only tell, if you have been here for a longtime 6 months+
there are alternatives. everything has alternatives. but anyways i'm not here to bash GS as a platform, certainly I agree that it has made things easier to program game for the average US. but there ARE alternatives and if we are overly protective, it'll be replaced by an alternative as soon as an alternative becomes available. Nothing stays constant, and GS needs to change for the better. All of you guys are investing your time and effort into this platform because you believe in it right. So do I, but that doesn't mean we have to believe in everything that is fed to us.
I hope that you understand blind love will only be counter productive.

Sure, let's vote for him to be one, if that's what everyone wants, I'll cast my vote for one. haha, I don't think I deserve to be one, my only hope is to raise awareness of the roles of sous chef. it is what you believe it is, but at least we are all thinking about it.
