Get it Started

I've been messing with the gamesalad creator learning how it works and it seems that I have been putting things together without sprites and its been pretty fun. (I've been just using blocks to test attributes and behaviors). Is it good to start off like this or should i have all the game pieces together before I create? Just wanted to hear from the community on this one.

I find, though, that I like to have *some* graphics in there, just to give me an idea of what it'll look like.
Additionally, you'll get a better idea of how your game handles memory with graphics in.
There was an excellent VVVVVVVV template being given away a while ago - and it ran really smoothly.
All it used was coloured blocks though. The memory usage went up of course as soon as you tried to add graphics, as they make each actor 'heavier'.
Hope that helps!
