Pay for review

Well i sent 30 emails of with promo codes to app reviews sites and ive now had about 10 replays
Pretty much saying if you pay or pay for advertising we will review your app!
This seems very seedy
Is this the norm and if it is what is the best site to pay to get a review.

The seedy 'ecosystem' that's grown out of the app store is really quite sickening.

It feeds on fear. Your fear. That your app will disappear. That it won't be noticed. Etc etc

If you have a good app, people will come to YOU asking for promo codes. Or they'll be more open to giving you a review if you've asked for one. For free.

Let's not beat about the bush - paying for a review is 'advertising' - it is NOT a review. It's an advert. To dress it up otherwise is misleading your potential customers.

People may argue that 'this is just the reality of the app store' and 'There's nothing wrong with it' and 'shut it, Sheepy'. Excuse my French, but f*** that.

    QS :D

A paid review is a waste of money. Really any paid advertising in my experience and what I have seen of others is a waste of money. Those site's require visitors to stay in business. and they need to review stuff to keep the visitors coming. SO…. If you get an email back saying feel free to look into our advertising options that include an expedited review. Its probably their polite way of saying we don't think your app is worth our time or any interest of our viewers. Don't feel bad we have all received those emails. You just have to give it a go and learn from any mistakes you made and try to make your next app even better.
