What Are All The Rectangles?

Seriously guys, I'm sorry I couldn't find my original post, but I'm confused.
In GameSalad, I recently changed my game from being iPhone Landscape to being for GameSalad Arcade. So, there are two little white rectangles in the bottom left corner, with a big black box surrounded by a big grey box.
The two little rectangles and the grey rectangle are the way GameSalad works (?), does that mean the big black box is the viable screen space for the format you're working with? All the same, what do they mean? And why are they in the corner?
