Thought I'd quickly post and see how excited people are getting about the potentially revolutionary and potentially disappointing new Apple iSlate / ipad (or whatever).
Is it simple going to be a cool way to surf the web around the home, whilst on the loo?
Will it be a touch screen that changes so you can feel where buttons are?
Will we be able to make games for it using GameSalad?
Find out what it is tomorrow from Apple...(or probably Thursday morning in the UK)...
Everyone at my work is talking about it all 6 of us use Macs to edit video on at work, we now all have iphones (as of 2 weeks ago) so its a bit of a Mac geek fest at the moment.
What are your thoughts....
(Oh and I got an email from apple last night saying the status of my app had changed...I got very excited only to see it had changed from 'pending review' to 'in review'....still very exciting.

Yeah im with you on getting a macbook
Although the first thing i wanna get once i can justify it is the pro membership.
I really wanna link my stuff
I have two free apps doing over 800 and 500 Downloads per day and linking my 99c game seems huge... thats over 1000 impressions per day

our sales should go up, ipad supports appstore and iphone apps!!!!
said by steve jobs!"!!
i definitely hope that it is a success because of what i bought five years ago...stock in apple!
noodles...
- Cant run mac apps
- No OLED
- No multitasking
Its just a bigger ipod touch with a few more features!
Maybe there will be an accessory at some time for it.
With all the new GUI menu pieces being introduced for this form factor, you could probably develop an app like GS on it since the conversion to Xcode could still handled off device (i.e. at Gendai) or could you get by letting it run in mobile Safari...plug-ins support?! That would be pretty sweet to develop apps on the go ON THE DEVICE (and test immediately if it ran in mobile Safari). Have a good painting program combined with all the existing audio apps, you have a portable design studio. Just dreamin'!
That being said, I think I'll give my wife an iPad and take her MacBook instead of buying a new one.
