I am now running Mac OS X version 10.7 Lion.
I update Xcode to version 4.1 through the apple developer site which took me to the App store.
Xcode installed.

I now get this message:

Install the Xcode Tools versions that supports Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

I did that.

Actually u dont even have to download xcode its already in lion and other macs.Go to the top right of the screen where u search and search "xcode".youll see something like "xcode install".You click on that and u will be taken to the xcode install process.I know this because i done it on a few new macbook pros/airs running lion.
