How would I go about creating that type of system, so basically wherever you touch the screen it would propel the ball appropriately.

The detailed breakdown is not something I've worked out, but it should be an interesting thing to try.

The system is based on time, mass and angle. Are you talking about all 3? The time and angle I think you could do it with a modification of the vector to angle accelerometer controls that are in the cookbook video, with touch time ramping the speed, and vector to angle applying inverse direction. The proportionate speed to mass and mass to speed would have to be a variables that would have to be added to the equation.

It is a fab game and if you want to know more about it and it's history there is a long interview here-

I hope that is of some help.

I'm trying to do this by no luck, anyone have a spare Osmos Style control template lying around. This is possible to do in GameSalad right?

This is actually easily done by constraining its x/y position to device.touch.1. I did it for Tap Them's update with interactive directions.

But wouldn't that make the ball go to the touch? Instead of it being pushed away, like in Osmos.

Try to accelerate towards -touchx and -touchy. Just a guess.
