Whats the best way to make a video of my GS game?

I know I could video someone playing it on an iphone, but that would look washed out and not show the detail, do you guys use some sort of screen capture programme so I could record playing in the GS Preview and then edit it down - is this the best way forward?

you could use one of the many screen capture programs avaialble for mac and play it through the simulator in Xcode....

If you have snow leopard installed quicktime can do it I believe.

Otherwise Camtasia (not free) is very nice and now available on the mac...(may be a free demo)

but google free screen recording on mac.

Then put into your favourite video editing software crop it a bit and voila....

Otherwise film yourself using it on an iphone, get a nice setup with a tripod, try it in alight and dark room to see what works best....gonna do both for my app tonight, and make some virals for youtube...

ushowhd (think thats it) is screen recording software, you select your window size and just record, it counts you in, start your app on your computer and record

I use Snapz Pro X, works great. You just select the recording area, in this case the gamesalad preview window, and play your game for a bit. After that some editing in iMovie and upload. To YouTube.

How do I view my game in the gsviewer simulator? I've only used it on my phone.

in xcode....where you have before pressed go and build...to the left on the drop down instead of selecting DEVICE, choose SIMULATOR....and then 'go and build' or 'build and go'.....(which ever one it is).

Or as Mulcahy has done just use the preview in GameSalad.

But you don't get the nice iphone frame...

I was looking to do the same thing and have found Jing, which seems really well made and allows you to upload directly to Youtube if you want.

I have only tried the trial version but will be upgrading to Pro later.

u can do it using livestream.com's free download called Procaster. it will make video of anything on your computer screen. it only works on windows though, not for mac.

Screenium will record up to 30 seconds of video on the free version. Since you have a Mac, import the video(s) into iMovie and combine multiple videos to make longer versions, trailers, or whatever.
