Can I release to the iphone with an ipad game?

Hi All, I have released an ipad game, and was about to resize it for the iphone/pod.
However, I have discovered that the GSViewer will let me play my iPad game on an iPOD, and it actually looks fine. So, my question is this -
Can I just upload my ipad game for the ipod, or will something fall over or get shirty with me along the way?
Is it just the GSViewer being extra friendly, or is GS in general actually extra awesome and will allow me to submit a pad game as a pod game?
Has anyone actually tried this yet? I'd be very interested to hear of any tales or joy or woe on this subject.
Thanks!

i would guess you would come into some problems along the way... if i were you i would just resize it and do it the way you know will work, instead of getting halfway down a route you are unsure of, and then hitting a brick wall. people may know otherwise, but i would just stick to the safe way :)

try it.. if it works why not. i'd try it if i didn't have like 10 projects going on the the same time... and the portfolio management interface isn't exactly friendly in terms of sorting things nicely... so to avoid confusing i didn't try.

but when you publish an iPad game, iPhone isn't listed so i don't think there's a way is there?

plus when you upload to iTunes connect, it detects what platform it runs under... not like you can pick.

Ahh, that may be it Ultima - I hadn't thought - the option isn't there when I click publish?...
    Oh. Yeah. Just checked.
Well, that's rained on this parade!
Never mind, thanks for the help ;]

I tried running one of my iPad games on my iPod touch and it didn't work. It still kept the iPad size and only showed a portion of the game on my iPod. How are you running your iPad game on a iPod?

Well, I just installed the viewer on my pod and phone, opened my ipad project, didn't change a thing, opened the viewer on my pod, and it popped straight up, preview on iPod, so I did, and it worked completely - no cropping, no badness. The only thing is that it's slightly squished, because of the aspect ratio, but it's completely full screen and useable.
    Hope that helps?...

That's acctually a good question. I have successfully loaded iPad games to my iPhone 4 on the viewer, so.... Maybe it is possible. If you have a working iPad game try an adhoc man. If it works man talk about a huge leap toward universal binaries. I may actually give it a try this evening just to see for myself.

    It won't work.

Because the iphone 4 uses retina displays, the viewer will let you test out an iPad game on it.

If you publish though you'll find that the build you make will not compensate in the same way and it won't work.

    Sorry!

Hmm, I have never seen that before. Does it really work and how well does it work? I'm worried that it would distort the image. Do you own it?
