Straight out of the box. It can play in the small, native iPhone/iPod touch resolution, or blow it up full-screen by doubling up all the pixels (640x960, I would suppose).
Most of the functions of the iPhone / iPod touch are in there, from accelerometer to multitouch to compass, plus microphone and 3G/Wi-Fi. I don't believe the iPad has a camera, though.
