So Adobe released an awesome new HTML5 authoring tool called Edge. The short and skinny is it's adobe's new tool for creating animation in HTML5.

But I've said it before and I'll say it again GAMESALAD is an AWESOME multimedia tool!
Don't miss the boat GameSalad team. Don't put all your eggs into the mobile gaming basket.

If I could use GameSalad to build an entire website I would.

Chime in GameSalad users! Let the awesome team at GS know that we can use this tool for so much more.

I mentioned that when Project: Masala was launched. I didn't like the idea that I paid for Pro... branding free... but basically Project: Masala is HTML 5 content that's tied to GameSalad.com.

With custom sizes and exportable projects... wow... it's a powerful web development tool.

Would definitely need more control over images before this could become a feasible option. I could make Game Website Templates all day long! Then again, so could everyone else. :) Pretty interesting for sure. We all see the potential in GameSalad, let's just try and stay focused on games at least until 1.0 comes around.

Edge looks like Adobe have used the interface in a cut down form from After Effects. This is cool and should make it it very easy to use. I doubt GS will add a time line anytime soon as it would impact the underlying design of the program. It would be cool if they opened up GS to outputting instructions to other elements that were on a page with a GS html5 game/app. Again I can't see this happening soon either as it would mean them breaking the link with the arcade and giving the export to the dev, to use how they wanted.

It would be very nice to be able to import HTML5 projects into GS as a layer, but this would take some thought and a great deal of work. I can imagine setting up animations in Edge and then adding interaction in GS, and then tying back links to other elements in a page...

I live in hope and until its possible we shall have to mix it up in other ways.

    cheers kipper
