Haelo:) I'm new on gamesalad and I have been working with it only for a couple of weeks... All that I have accomplished is making my little actor move and look like he is taking steps (Its Link lol) Sooo anyway, long story short.. How come he has a white box around him? when I make any backround or anything, a white box shows up around him.. Is it the paint I am using?
Also, can anybody tell me how to make a pokemon style RPG with this? I don't even know where to start!

Hi Luna_Luck, welcome to GS; best of luck with it; do persevere and let's hope you make great games with it!

To answer your question: basically, you need to create the images for your actor with a transparent background. Hope that leads you in the right direction...

Looks like this has been resolved, but I noticed something. You're using Link, as in from Legend of Zelda? Sorry dude, but you can't grab graphics from other games. You could get in big, big trouble, especially if you're using the graphics for commercial purposes. We don't want to see you having to pay huge fines for breaking copyright. ;)

It's best to make your own graphics, but I understand if that's a bit difficult to do. I've always had problems with getting graphics for my game that I can use legally.

Sprite Sheets from old games like that are all over I would imagine he is just using the animation to get a feel for GameSalad. not to publish a game with it.

Using graphics from other games is okay for testing purposes, I guess. However, just for future reference, do NOT use any graphics from other games for serious projects!

Open it in preview and use automatic alpha and select the white area and remove it. Paint is not going to allow transparent.

And Please tell me you are only using that for learning purposes.

Also in the future do not create a new thread for the same subject. I'm merging this to your old one now.

Hi, in Pixen, double click the Magic Wand tool. A dialog will appear, make sure Tolerance is 0 and "Affect only contiguous pixels" is checked. Then click on the white background, then press delete. Save as png. This needs to be done for every frame of your player animation. Good luck! :-)
