Apple Unable to activate my iPhone Developer membership?

I signed up to Apples developer programme as an individual, got my Activation code through this morning, but when I entered it to activate the membership I get the message

"We are unable to Activate your iPhone Developer membership because we are unable to verify your identity.

Whats that all about - I've used my original Apple ID that I have had for the last 10 years with purchases of Apple software, hardware and iTunes apps so what can't they verify and what am I supposed to do now!

    email them. It will get taken care of.

    That happened with me because I used Joe instead of Joseph in one of the fields...

    i had similar trouble to that, they told me to send them certain documents and would take around 2 weeks, i just phoned them and they got it sorted there and then. Try giving them a call. I only know the UK number 0800 505094

    same happend to me....simple emailed them and they sorted it out in the next 24 hours...

    I'm in the same situation. Just got my activation link but when I click it it doesn't work.. And I can't find the swedish support number anywhere.. Damnit
