Simple Image Resize Question

Simple, I think : ) Keep in mind, I have resolution independence checked.

I just want to make sure this is correct. Let's say I create an image that is 16 x 16 pixels. I import that image into Gamesalad. From what I see, it automatically resizes it to 8 x 8 pixels. When I look at the actor on the stage, the actor is the size I want it to be in relation to the other actors. This is correct, right?

Part of me tells me to go back to Photoshop, recreate the image at 8 x 8 pixels. Import it into Gamesalad which resizes it to 4x4 pixels. Then manually turn it back to 8 x 8 pixels. When I look at the actor on the stage, the actor is the size I want it to be in relation to the other actors. If I did this, would this go against what the resolution independence? Or is THIS the correct way and saves me file size and memory?

Thanks!

That is essentially undoing resolution independence. Resolution independence only makes copies of all of your images at half of the size and uses them for older devices without retina.

Essentially the iPhone4 packs 4x as many pixels (960x640 as opposed to the old 480x320) into the same size screen, so in other words you are doing it right, no need to change anything. :)
