Pause Game and Pause Timer Question

I am trying to pause the game and the timer in the game. But I am finding that pausing the game does not pause the timer in the game. Is this correct? Does anyone know how to pause a timer in a game? I have been searching on the forums and I have found some topics on the subject but nothing that is making sense to me. Any help is so appreciated!!

    I searched all day and part of yesterday for the answer to a question that does not even exist. Pause game does pause the timer in the game.

    I could laugh if I wasn't crying right now.
