GS Viewer only working on iPad - not iPod Touch

I've tried using the recent version of the GS Viewer (GameSalad-Viewer-0.9.6-beta), and it works fine on my iPad (1 Gen, iOS 4.3.1).
However, installed on either of my iPod Touches (3 gen, iOS 4.2.1; 4 gen, iOS 4.3.1) the first scene appears, buttons are accessible, but the actual gamelogic is inaccessible (ie. nothing is moving on the screen).
I've tried several games and templates, but they all halt after the first frame or so.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Daniel

Let's take the "Crazy Ball Wall Breaker Template", for instance. Starting it on the iPod will spawn the first scene with allt it's content. Some input work (for instance, I can move the bottom-bar left and right). But when I click to spawn the first ball it appears in its initial position, and then freezes there in mid air.
Another example is "Cannon Physics". It starts with all it's content, and the initial audio is heard. Clicking (or hold-releasing) will make a cannonball appear just outside the cannon, and freeze there in mid-air. No other animation takes place from then on. I can still click and hear the cannonball get fired, but nothing is seen other than the static scene.
Any ideas? Do I have a too old version of iOS installed, perhaps?
The iPod 3d gen's most recent update is the current one, ie. 4.2.1. Tried reinstalling the viewer with the same results. Is it possible that this version of the viewer doesn't support iOS below 4.3.5? If so, does previous versions of iOS support published games from GameSalad?
Well, here is the not so obvious solution - both iPods had run out of juice and had reset their internal date to 1970!? Simply changing the date/time and reinstalling the viewer made it work on both devices. Waddayaknow
