Boss won't always overlap with all the lasers?

trying out the shoot em up template and replaced the boss with another image. The boss will take about 30 to 40 hits then the lasers have almost no impact. If you hit it on the bottom of the image or in the back, then a few more hits are made, but otherwise boss becomes invulnerable to lasers. Anyone have any ideas?

    The way that template is set up, you have to hit the boss a certain number of times before it will explode. Hope this helps :)

    yes, the hit points are initially set to 100. And that numbers comes down to about 60 before the boss just stops taking hits and stops flashing on impacts with the laser. After that, it has to be shot on the very bottom of the image and then in the back side. I'm using a score actor on the screen to display the boss' hit points. I'm also constraining the boss' hit points to a game attribute that is displayed in the score on the screen so I can see the actual value.
