T-Shirt's Particle Trail

I've been testing T-Shirt's particle trail from here: http://gshelper.com/?p=284

This works well and is easy to set up, but is there a way to get the particles to spawn behind the actor rather than in front? It looks a bit weird having the particles showing up in front of the actor, so hopefully there's a way to make them spawn behind instead.

If i remember correctly .. nope. Particles always emit in front. You could always constrain an actor on top of the one emitting the particles with the same image but no rules, that way the original actor emits particles in front but on top of that is the new constrained actor which is just the image, this way it'll give the illusion that the particles are behind. Just depends on performance as to what that constrain will do

Hopefully this can be added as some stage. Pls GS crew!

You can offset the particles by any amount in the Offset Tab.

Joe, that doesn't work when the actor changes direction because the offset would be on the wrong side. I can imagine a workaround where the offset is always on the oposite site of the direction the actor is going though but haven't worked that out.

Without a bunch of math, the only thing you can do to make it look authentic is to design your graphic to have the place where particles emit from in the very center of the image. If your image doesn't permit that possibility, then you have to go the math route.

But still no option to have it emit behind the actor yet.

I think it can be done.
Create a second actor thats in front of the spawning actor.
Make this one larger or the spawner smaller.
