* Price Change: There are a lot of tools that show price reduced apps. So if you often go down-up-down with the price, they will track you and promote you
* Feedback: It is very important to get in contact with your player. So integrate a Feedback function and be quick on answering any incoming mails. This not only improves your Customer Relations, is also gives you important Insight into your games and largely heightens the probability that your customers might suggest your app to friends and followers
* Target Ads: Don´t just put Ads on the Web, target your Audience very precisely. Facebook (for example) allows you to show Ads only to a very specific group. Think about things like: Who would play my game? Who would promote my game? Who would suggest my game? To what interests or gamer group does my game appeal? You could for example target a Ads only towards gaming evangelists - if they like it and spread the word, you have a hell of a multiplier on your hands. One Tweet by a star could give you 10.000 downloads
* Ad Exchange: Game Developers are a big Family (i hope so). So why not help each other. Integrate Ads to your game in their App, Website, Page, Blog and more - and do the same for them.
* Code Exchange: Ask other Developers if they would like to give their audience Redeem Codes for your game - and help them in exchange.
* Bloggers and Gamepages: It´s all about the multipliers - so ask around the web if they want to review your game, give feedback, maybe even make a tutorial or feature it on their page. If a popular gaming site reviews your game, you get a ton of exposer. Caution: Don´t be to pesky about it. You want them to love you, not to see you as a spammer. Ask politely and only once - no mail bombing. List of Review Pages here:

* Stay in Contact: Nothing is cooler then to see how a loved thing grows. So start a blog, page, twitter, youtube or any tool you favor and show your audience what you are working on right now. Rule of thumb is to post a new development as soon as possible - (well think before you post is another rule). The advantage of posting new developments early on is that your fans can help you improve it before you waste to much time. If no one seems to like it, just drop it and give some love to your fans by doing what they think is cool.
* Wording: Believe it or not, but wording is crucial for good marketing. It is not by chance that advertisers get payed big money for coming of with slogans like "just do it". So take your time and think about the right names, words, lines, even functions have words. Do you push a button or press it, or maybe touch it or hit it - it may be the same function, but it appeals to a very different audience and also influences the integrity of the game experiance. This of course also applies to the text you use on the website, in banners and ads and more.
* Interact: It is VERY important that you not only post only but also interact with others on their streams and pages. Post, like, fav, comment, talk, interact, become friends. If people don´t know you they don´t care about you. So you may have lots of followers but they may not read your posts ever until you engage them on a personal basis.
* Get Local: Internet is cool and it´s so easy to post - but it´s very crowded. A very simple way to promote your game so people see it is to get local. Print flyers, stickers, posters, cards for your game and spread them among friends, bars shops, events. Printing today is very cheap, so you can easily print 5000 flyer for little money.
* Get Local 2: Pages like Facebook seem to be the best way to promote your stuff. But a friend of mine got his company started by going the other way. He talkes to his local paper, radio station, events, schools and companies. He is a local, so they loved to support him and since the see him in person they downloaded his app - because it´s a nice thing to do, ya know. So the got a lot of people to use his app, some liked it, recommended it, and there you go. Also: The local market is a market other developers can´t touch that easy!
* Stand Out: People love to get entertained. So why not think about a cool activity related to your game, do it, make a video about it, share it. Have a game about ghosts? Try to launch a Ghost Flashmob in your local apple store or games store. You might only have a fun time and a little exposure or you might get a post in the local paper + lots of people who love your video. Try it out, it´s for free
* Barcamps and Gaming Events: You don´t have to be on Gamecom to show of you App. You can also look for any related even. A good way to get people involved, imho, is rather than presenting your game (that´s boring), to go and ask them about their experiences with games, game design and what they would change or improve. They will love to share and you will introduce your game without being the "salesman". Don´t forget to post a list online, of all the good input you got - people will love you for that.
have fun and join it to improve the list
