Wrap actor within itself?

Is this possible? -

I have a actor image, 256 x 256 pixels in size. I want the actor to remain in the same place on screen, but want the image within it to move left to right and wrap around within itself.

is there 2 seperate actors? if so is the 2nd one inside controllable at all or is its movement automatic?

I havent seen anyone do this. Was thinking about it the other day. You can do it if the actor spans the edge of the screen or is masked at both ends by other actors. But the limitation I saw was cutting the edges of the actor.

If you had mask actors on either side then it would be doable in the same way as the scrollable background thing.

So the easiest way to do this is to make the scroll anim in photoshop/gimp and then animate the thing.

Cheers. Yeah I've just had a play around with it and the 'mask' actors seem like the way to go for now.

Unless anyone else comes up with another way about it.
