Hello Everyone,

I know this has nothing to do with game development but I still wanted to post it. I recently bought a Incase Macbook Pro shell for my Macbook Pro to protect it from scratches and dings. What is everyones opinion on Macbook Pro hardshell cases? Is the incase hardshell the best case? Also I have heard that the case itself can scratch the computer. Is this true? Does anyone own a Macbook Pro shell and what do you think of it?

Thanks Everyone

I have one, have had it for 3 years. It's very nice and protective, although my Mac has never fallen or anything. The vent on the bottom of the case does leave marks on your mac, I've tried cleaning it off, but it takes some effort.

Just my 2 cents. Enjoy your new case!

Thanks iTouchGamer. You said that the vents on the bottom leave marks, Do they come off or are they permanent? Also has your case scratched your macbook pro at all?

    Thanks :)

Yes I have a speck see-thru in black. Seems good so far. The shell itself won't scratch the case but I can see how over time you could get a small amount of debris or dust in there that could cause a scratch.

I know people like to keep their macs shiny and new looking, but at the end of the day it's there to be used. If you keep it at home then no case needed, if you take it places then a case and a good bag will help but doing this every day you will eventually get a few small scratches.

I think the incipio hard shell cases are probably some of the best, I have a macbook air one. However they only had the MBP case in red in the shop so I bought the speck instead.

Well when I first got the case, I took it off like every week to clean the computer, and the marks came off, but I haven't taken it off in about a year now and I'd bet the mark will be permanent this time. I haven't had any scratches as of yet, but like StusApps said, some dirt has gotten inside. (I have the same case but it's clear)

Thanks for the information guys. I appreciate it. I don't really care if my macbook pro is scratched i agree it is here to be used. I just am concerned for the sake of the resale value.
