I have looked at them before. There are lots of free hosts that offer similar. Most will not allow you to have your own Domain though. So it will always be a subdomain of their site. :(

Yeah these guys are amazing because they offer advance hosting for free and they never are down. But yes nobody out there offers free domains... Unfortunately....

Right well Just google free php hosting and you will have tons of options. My favorite for a free host is p4o.net because its such a short addition to your subdomain. But really all of them are about the same. And Im not talking a free domain. I mean If you have bought a domain name most of them will not let you use it with there service. You have to have the subdomain only.

My experience with web hosting is that you get what you pay for.

Free services are only free because there will be a catch. That could be any of the following:

    - Advertising on your site
    - Pushing you to their paid options for silly reasons (bandwidth, size, type of site)
    - Forced subdomain use
    - No access to .htacess or php.ini files (which can be a pain)
    - Suspended accounts for no reason
    - Affiliate programs that could be a scam (as I have read about 000webhost)
    - Downtime with no comeback for the customer.
    - Any other way to scam you out of a few bucks.

At the end of the day they are businesses who are in it to make money, by some means other than direct charges for the hosting.

At least with a paid host (that can be as little as $4 a month for a good one). You don't get any of the above and get full access to a proper control panel.

Maybe times have changed as I haven't used a free host in a couple of years. But it is good to have one single reliable company host both your domain and your site. Also it looks far more professional to have your own domain.

I recommend using webs.com. Very short subdomain, decent functionality, and free!

    Best of luck,
    Henry
