Hi, Im new and ive been trying to make a shooter recently and i have found it kinda challenging to do on my own.
Can anyone suggest any other easy game types to make and where to start, would a simple point and click be easy to make ?
Also where do i get all the images for the actors from ?
Last if anyone wants to work with me as a team so we can do a better job and email our work to each other and so on then tell me as that would be great :)

try starting off with a template. you'll learn alot from trying to modify the code. what kind of shooter are you trying to make? most people new to gs seem to go for puzzle or physics based games

Point&click adventure is never easy to make. I worked 7 months (12-16 hours a day) on this one: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-train-episode-01/id403228643?mt=8
And 9 months on this one: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-train-episode-02/id428972023?mt=8

A simple point and click game would be relatively easy to make, providing it has no puzzles - which the majority of adventure gamers expect nowadays - and no inventory system. Added to this that the images have to interesting/absorbing enough so that users don't get fed up with them (as you know, in a lot of point and click adventure games, the majority of the screens are revisited); and not forgetting an interesting storyline.

So, with what's expected nowadays from point and click adventures, this type is one of the most difficult to do and I wouldn't recommend anyone without any previous experience with this type of game trying it as a first game.

Each game type has it's own complications, if done properly; I'd advise you to learn the ropes a bit more by looking at the Cookbook and the GS videos before deciding which you'll go for.

You might find some people who will work with you in a team but from what i've seen in the past from others' trying this, it doesn't come to fruition.

As for the graphics - commission them, buy them from the Marketplace, create them yourself or find copyright free stuff from the internet.

Good luck and here's hoping you'll find something to get stuck into. for the majority of GS users, the first, second, even the third or fourth game is sometimes looked back upon as practice for the first professional offering.

you either pay someone to do it or you make them yourself.

Platformers are hard to get perfect. Come up with something original. It can be really simple yet fun to play. You could even try making a utility.
