How to alter the colour of the background while playing

Is there a way to change the colour of the background while playing?

Specifically, I want to be able to have the background in black and white, but each time you achieve an objective, the background slowly blends in more colour until it is full colour.

Can this be done in GS?

You can change the self color attributes by increments every so often to slowly turn into the color, or interpolate the self color attributes to have it over a set duration of time.

    Thanks.

Can I link these changes to a condition? Rather than do it over time. Have it increase in colour once a condition has been reached?

Sure thing just throw it in a rule to happen whenever you want.
