Using "Option Drag" to drag attributes from one GS file to another.

I am trying to add a memory template into my current game. I had two GS windows open at the same time and "option-dragged" the files from the template into my current game. Then I went back and inputed all the attributes that did not keep. (Does that make sense?) The problem is, the memory game does not work. I've looked and compared the two files and I can't see any differences. (Except that I changed some x and y coordinates so that the memory game would be in portrait instead of landscape, that could be my problem i guess) My question...can you option drag attributes from one open GS file to another? Does it mess the files up?

    Trying it like this will have nothing but problems, i recommend Deep Blue Ideas' Project Merger, does it in seconds and everything works sweet as a nut;

    This has literally saved me days and days of work, truly great bit of lit and ever so simple to use :)

    Yes I have considered purchasing that program. I thought I could just do it myself though and save the money. But I am running into problems.

    The time it takes to figure out the problems will cost you more in the long run that using the merger. I seem to recall you will need to drag all the behaviours in again. So lets say you copy the following from project A to project B.

    Change Attribute
    Rule
    Interpolate

    When you now look at project A and fill in all the missing attributes, it still doesnt work. You will now need to just setup from scratch, no option drag all of those again that you copied over.

    Basically, you either need to have both projects open and just copy, setting up everything from scratch or buy the merger

    Yes I still needed to fill in the missing attributes, but it was a little faster than doing it from scratch. But I am running into problems. I just didn't know if it was a problem with my filling in the attributes or if the option drag thing just did not work. I think you are totally right, I should just buy the merger.

    Yeh basically i think it doesnt work, you have to recreate everything from scratch. Honestly, i have bought a few of their tools and the merger and resizer have been absolute god sends, if i only used them a couple of times each they would have easily paid for themselves but i've gotten soo much value out of them already.

    Happy girl here!

    I got the merger last night. It took my 3 minutes from start to finish! I wish I would bought it sooner, it would have saved me days! Oh well, I know it will save me days in the future. I am still having orientation problems since I merged a landscape into a portrait. It got all squishy. But I am sure I will be able to figure that out.

    Lesson learned: Option dragging from from GS game into another GS game and filling in the missing attributes does not work! Buy the merger!

    Maybe this will help another newbie in the future.
