is it possible to have it so when you die then the game pauses for a short time while it plays a death song/tune then resets the scene? the pause attribute makes you choose a scene so when it pauses it switches to that scene as a pause menu. i don't want this. i want it so it pauses all the actors in the scene and the music so i can play my little game over tune then reset. can you do this?

    Yup!

When gameover is true, play music _ and show actor _ (move into the scene or spawn and destroy) times, after _ second reset scene

    :)

i dont really get what you said. i want to pause everyone in the scene as it is so if i die in mid air then i freeze their ad every monster freezes. i already know how to stop the music and have a timer for the reset. i really just need to pause the scene without a pause screen.

Hm, you can still use a pause screen in my opinion.
On The moment you die change the x and y position of the actor in 2 gameattributes (deathx and deathy for example). Then destroy actor or alpha = 0. Then pause scene to a scene where you only have an actor with a dying animation of your main actor that has his self position x and y on the death x and y.
Sorry for being a bit short but you probably get it. Typing on an iPhone sucks ;)
