Vertically Scrolling Background

hello hello!

ok, so complete noob here.. just wondering... whats the best way to create a scrolling background for a vertical 1942 style shoot em up?...

any tips/pointers etc?...

It's just like the example included with GameSalad — Basic Shoot em up — but the direction of movement is changed. The camera doesn't actually move. Rather, the backgrounds move and enemies are chucked onto the screen. If you look closely at that example, it should be a decent guide to building a vertically scrolling shooter.

You could also use scene scrolling, but I find that GameSalad tends to lose performance significantly if the scene is too large.
