Does GameSalad protect us from this kind of bottom-feeder?

I just stumbled upon (hey - good name for a Website) this article - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14682700 - and thought others may be interested.

Sounds like the company concerned have acquired the patent rights to certain processes/methods of performing functions and are then telling app developers they need to license these patents from them or face going to court.

Since GS is logic and rule-based, and the compiling is done by GS, I think this means that we are protected from this kind of extortion (too strong a word?).

    Lodsys is a company that developed how IAP work. Apple Licensed their Patent to be used in all apps and now they are trying to Go after every single Developer using IAP For a licensing fee. I don't get why that article says they don't know what lodsys is after cause Its actually been in the new for months. Apple has actually Stood up against them as well saying they licensed it for all the developer on the app store. so they are not owed anything from anyone iOS app.
