Really can't wait to see what this brings. So you've been working on it for a year now?

Hey thanks for posting on your site, just tweeted and posted it on our facebook page.
I like your site design, it's nice and clean.
No we started Ashley Ao this autumn. When I said I'd be learning GS optimisation for a year I meant that's how long I've been using GS overall. But this game we started a couple months ago. Like you probably already know game development can be really quick in GS. So now that I'm pretty familiar with it I don't think Ao will take much longer to finish.

As I've mentioned before google alerts is really useful. It'll email you whenever a new webpage is created with your specified keywords. I 'd recommend it to keep track of what is being said about your apps and by whom.
With that being said, a couple more preview articles have popped up. AppSafari gave a nice write-up, it's good to hear how enthusiastic they are about Ashley Ao. Nice to get a mention on the trailer music too (as I did it). It says it's on the appstore (which it isn't yet, of course) on their front page but I'm guessing that's just because they have a standard format for each article.
Also GameTrailers put the preview up. The latest post on their comments section made me smile. Naturally I prefer positive comments but it was still quite funny.
It's encouraging to be getting some good feedback at this stage of development. Hope to be able to show some more of the game soon...
another endless running game? i prefer some bosses at the end of stage. also, i would suggest your artist to polish his art. good luck, cant wait to see more!

Thank you for your BS Translations. I am giving suggestions, not criticisms. That's all. If you guys dont like to hear, then forget it or ignore my comments. Peace!
@kinwaing - I'd agree with the others that drawing outlines on al the images wouldn't suit the style we're going for.
Having said that I ended up implementing a a lot of suggestions from forum threads and beta testers with Colony Collapse, so I do welcome any opinions and ideas for Ao.
Yeh i absolutely agree with the art direction .. Keep it as it is, it adds a different feel to all the vector apps.
However Kinwaing was just voicing her/his opinion and shouldn't be slated for it! When you show off preview work you will get people who love it and people who don't and as HTS says, its all valuable feedback

I played the 360 version of that but not the iphone version. Looking at the trailer for the iphone game I can kinda see where you're coming from. Although what we've shown so far is only one element of Ao. So it will have runner levels but but will also have different types of gameplay in other sections.
Right now I'm playing around with some nice zoom effects for the intro to a new sequence. Having parallax scrolling going on while the camera zooms in and out looks really nice.
So I'm putting the last changes in before we're ready to show the new gameplay element for Ao. And at the same time listening to the 1986 Transformers the Movie Soundtrack. I'm feeling very optimistic at this point. Ao is looking great and I'm sure you'll all think so too.
@ozboybrian 'This guy'?... Where are your manners Brian? If you're talking about me it's Shaz. Or if you mean the artist (formally known as Ryan)... it's Ryan.
Awesome, was randomly thinking about this the other day and had wondered if development was still going ahead. Glad its nearly finished, looking forward to seeing the new play
@beefy_clyro Well, nearly finished this stage of development. Still a ways to go for the entire game... Although we have decided to be more focused on the core of the game and not let feature-creep overwhelm us.
@beefy_clyro Well I'll wait 'till we show the next gameplay video. Then the explanation of what comes next will make more sense So how far off do you think your sci-fi game is from being finished?
@ozboybrian I suppose it does look like an endless runner from the first preview video. That's one aspect but not the whole game. But you'll soon see what I mean. ___________ On the GS asset store: Rock Music, Pack 2 Say hi on Twitter Like us on Facebook www.HoneyTribeStudios.com
@HoneyTribeStudios - ah ha, i look forward to seeing the trailer then My game isn't too far off, waiting on some art etc at the moment, most the coding is done, once i get the rest of the art i need to do some code tweaking and testing through everything and that should more or less be it. I'd like to hope for around a month.
@beefy_clyro Glad yours is nearly finished. It's a great feeling to be able to release something when you've put a lot of effort into it. If you need help play testing it just send me a testflight link. Be warned though, I'm always honest with feedback and generally quite critical.

Uptimistic nailed what im going for with Ao, a moving painting.
While the art will certainly be cleaned up prior to release, the art style in the trailer is pretty close to how i see the final product.
Thanks for all the interest, this is definetly a game im really looking forward to playing myself!

@Hapiapps - Thanks for the vote of confidence
@QS, Uptimistik and Ashtmj - Glad you're all into the look of this. Looking forward to being able to show you all the next gameplay sections...

We should have the second gameplay element to show soon. We're polishing some stuff that's turning out really good...

Amazing what a bit of 80s rock can do for one's motivation.

Edit - after browsing, bit harsh on mr @Kinwaing he was only giving his opinion.
