Hi all.
I'm going to NYC friday.
First I am going to remember 911, I was there 10 years ago.
Next is meeting some friends and off course enjoying the city.
If there is anyone from NYC who needs a break from his projects and would like to meet please let me know. Perhaps we can grab a coffee somewhere and chat a bit.

Cheers!
Ludwig

    Any one in AZ?? hah.

Love NYC, was there last summer, went to the museum and the memorial was no where near complete. There did a quick job. I want to see it finished so badly.

New York City... never will you find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

...oh wait, that's Mos Eisley Space Port... heh... I live in New York City. This weekend is busy for me though. I've already got plans on Friday and I was planning to stay away from Manhattan on Saturday / Sunday. Even if the terrorists don't make good on their threats, there will be lots of tourists in the area. :)

So far, the weather does look nice for Sunday though. It could be a nice day for a meet-up.

    A 9/11 GameSalad meetup?!
Wow... that would be crazy and yet patriotic.

I think... wow... we could make a 9/11 memorial app. All the great GameSalad minds, from around the globe, coming together to reflect on the events that happened 10 years ago. And yet... I'm reminded of this...

A free lecture at NYU — with free food — only had one person interested. I don't blame people though. Even though I live here, I generally like to stay home and work on my projects.

I got a good look of One World Trade Center last weekend. Wow, that building is getting up there. It's starting to peak out past the skyline. I was here during 9/11. It was a really dark time. It was generally depressing in NYC... until Microsoft threw an XBOX launch party in Times Square. That's one of the reasons why I think video games are important. They can make people happy.

@John & Photics: that is 2, anyone else?
I was just thinking about having some coffee nothing special.

@Photics: Something against tourist ;) hehe!

@outasite: You're from AZ? I have some family in Phoenix I might visit somewhere in the next couple of years. Also I am (re)building a vw Baja and have been on AZBaja forums a lot. Perhpaps you heard of these guys, or should I say heard them, they are pretty loud ;)

@Kipper: thanks for the link, I'll check 'm out. I already found a nice app about places to see and nice restaurants all ranged by budget ;) Its called the best of New York by Baffled by Travel.

I'm probably not going to be there. Nothing against tourists... I like them. When I'm on the Staten Island Ferry, they make me smile. To me, the boat ride is a mode of transportation. To them, it's a life experience... something they'll talk about for years. It puts things in perspective.

That's actually not a terrible place for a meet-up. You can get drinks, pretzels, and see a nice view of the statue of liberty... all while talking about games... and the ferry is free. (The drinks/pretzels are not. HA!)

Apparently, I actually like the ferry. One of the levels in my next game might include the ferry.

Chevy, I had a caprice wagon (former hearse) and a GMC vendura. Both huge for European standards (and most parking spaces ;)

I hear ya photics. Tourists are funny a way. Especially the Japanese ones. Always in a rush. ;)
I'm more of a museum/architecture tourist and offcourse I have to get up on the empire state building. Not that many times I feel on top of the world. :p

I'd recommend the Cathedral in Florence Italy. There is a tower next to it that I around 760 steps (no elevator) to the top. What a view. For the Empire definitely get the fast pass. Never felt like such a VIP. Passed maybe 250 people when I did it, and waited for about a total of 3 mins (elevator music).

Florance is on my list! I love Italy anyway and Italian (homemade) food is the best.
I was on the empire state before. On 911 I had planned to go on the twin towers. But it never happened. I arrived on the 10th in the evening. My first time in NYC.
When we got from the airport the cab driver stopped in the middle of the road to give us a view of manhattan and said look the twin towers, this is New York City!
I didn't see the towers again until they where on fire.
    Memories memories.
