It'll depend on what you mean by "RPG" I think. Due to load time issues between scenes, I don't think anyone has made a traditional RPG, though there have been a couple top-down Zelda-like games.
I'm working on a Dragon Warrior (NES) type right now. I've managed to set up the math for player/monster stats, leveling, gold/xp accumulation, and turn based battles. I hit a snafu with movement (in process of fixing) because I'm using a touch to move rather than a "d-pad".

Like Extra asked, what are you trying to make?
something like Maplestory for iPhone is what I'm trying to create... although a top down shooter could possibly work for my idea if there is a tutorial for that... Thanks for that!!

I'm interested in making such a game at some point... How's that going and what are your load times like?
I don't have any art in it yet, and I haven't expanded the world beyond 960X640. It sits at 12mb memory and 60fps, but we'll see how that goes... Once my movement issue is resolved, I'll fix the whole game up minus art and see how it runs.
