Does updating a webgame RESET all scores?

Holy Crap - i just updated my web game "Super Centron Galaxy 8000" and all the stats are gone! Everything is back to zero :(

how can i prevent this?

    ohhhh - well i rename the game every time to put the version number in the name

    nope, same thing reset all scores to zero

    i uploaded the game, played it uploaded it again with the same name

    Well, good to know it works for apps, but Gamesalad can put that "html5" picture down if something like that doesn´t work...

    ps.: i hoped a little bit that gamesalas would store the info in the profile of the gamesalad users - like kongregate
