What kind of sales is everyone getting from the mac app store? I have 5 games that do good on the ipad and iphone, but I'm wondering if its worth my time to port them for the mac app store.

Anybody have any sales comparison information between the mac app store and the regular one?

When the ipad app store came out I wondered the same thing, but now I'm glad I did it, because my ipad sales are about 30% of my overall income.

I've just released my first app on the mac appstore - currently achieving the same level of sales as the iPad version...

Go for it - its additional revenue for little extra work.

    Good luck

For me is not as Good as iPad Version, but it definitely pays the 99 very fast!

    So go for it!

Thanks for the info, I think I'll give it a shot. Do you guys suggest I keep the price the same .99 as iphone/ipad or charge a premium.

I'll be doing a few enhancements on the mac version because I'll be able to do more particles and so forth because of the more powerful cpu's. But, it'll mostly be the same game.

Yeah, you can upload in 1024 x 768 to the mac app store. What I was meaning was I will add a few more cpu intensive features to my games because almost any mac's cpu is faster than the idevices. I was then contemplating charging more for the mac store version because it has some more features and because all the mac store apps seem to be at least twice the price of their Idevice counterpart.

Interesting, but this was over 2 years ago before the mac app store existed. The mac app store has made games and apps easily accessible for mac owners the way the app store did for iphone owners. I was mainly interested in how mac app sales compare to iphone sales now vs. how they did 6 months ago. I almost made my apps for the mac app store 6 months ago, but sales were so abysmal that I didn't feel it was worth my time to port the games over. My particular games do require a fair amount of work to function properly on the mac.

Yes, as long as everything still makes sense. You don't want your instructions to say touch here.

My games will work much better on the mac by using the keyboard for input, but many games, such as the ones tshirt has on the mac app store seem like they would work great with the mouse.

    Thanks!

I'll have to change some text to "Click Here"...

In my rules, can i use the "when touch is pressed" or do i have to use the "mouse click"?

I have yet to publish a game to the mac app store, but touch is pressed works fine when you make a local mac version, so I would believe it would be fine.

NO YOU MUST change all your art to say click here. Apple will reject anything that says tap or touch.

    cheers

Yeah, we were talking about in the gamesalad rules, if it would be ok to use touch is pressed instead of mouse button is down. I was saying that touch is pressed works fine for mac apps even though your actually using your mouse.
