I think you could use IAP, but there would be a problem with it if you just used it to change the free edition or a paid subscribed app to a new upgrade as then when you did updates the older previously issued version/edition would be overwritten when you made the new one available. I personally would like to keep older copies of a magazine and having them removed would be a loss.
My understanding of the process that is used for magazine style subscription apps is that they are set up with a code that is based on point of enter to the subscription and then allow access to the editions that are permitted by the code. These apps access content based on web-links and form a browser for that content, or have an agreement with Apple to use a more complex system in connection with itunes.
There may be a way to set things up how you are thinking but I can't quite see how.
@old_kipper Thanks for your answer ...In my side I still dont have any idea I make ebook on iphone v1 to v6 then app store said I have to change to be subscription or in app purchase then they will allow me to publish V7 of my ebook on App store... that why I try to find the way to make it... Any other sugguestion about this
I think Apple has some subscription thing for Magazines, but GameSalad doesn't support that or in-app purchases... not yet anyway. I'm not sure if the subscription thing is epub/iBooks though. I didn't look into it enough. I don't have a need to run a magazine subscription. But if I did, I doubt I would use GameSalad... not unless it supported many of the following features...
• Better text support, like formatting and anchor links / hyperlinks • All of Apple's monetization features • Better memory management • Faster loading times • Webviews
