Order of Importance
Over the few years I've had with making games, I've learned about the order of importance when it comes to making games. When you're designing a game, think about the number 1 most important aspect in making games. I'll break it down.
1) Controls. If you can't play a game, then how are you supposed to enjoy it at all? Without good controls, everything below this won't matter. Bad controls, bad game.
2) Gameplay. The main reason why most people play games is for enjoyment. Why play a game that's no fun?
3) Quality. The game should play well with little to no bugs and glitches.
4) Graphics. Graphics drive attention to your games. If it doesn't look good, it won't get as many sales. This ties in with quality.
5) Music. No one wants to play a game with awful music. If the music in a game is very annoying and hurts the players' ears, they won't get far. Most games allow you to mute the music so you can listen to your own music, so this is lower on the list. You should still have at least decent music, though.
6) Story. A storyline isn't all that important unless the game is an RPG or adventure game. You should worry about this last.
Please discuss the Order of Importance below.

Comments
After 6 months, my game is almost ready. I was going to submit it the other day but played through it again and found bugs, then played again and found more bugs, then had a few other people play it and added a few things.
Instead of rushing it, take the time to make it playable the first time a person loads it. If I buy a game and it crashes or I can't play it, I get pretty frustrated and usually won't play the game again let alone leave a good review.
