Collide and Stop (HELP PLZ!)

I have an actor that accellerates down then collides with the ground and slides forever. I need this actor to collide and in the period of like 2 seconds slow to a stop. I tried using drag on the actor but that effects all properties. I need it to only drag when it collides?
