self explanatory. should be able to edit posts, especially in the marketplace. i have a thread in there id like to update but i see im forced to create a new thread.

another suggestion. allow people who offer services in the marketplace to moderate their own threads.

    Um no you cannot moderate your own thread and unless your thread has been closed all you have to do is make a new post in that thread with the updated info and it will come back to the top of the list.

    im saying people should be allowed to moderate their own threads in that particular forum or at least edit their original post. its a messy system. being able to edit your own posts should be standard. rather than the 1 hour lock out period. out of that particular context, what if someone were to say something that they later regretted. posting sensitive information, insulting a fellow member of gs. its not a HUGE hassle to make a new thread, but is there any particular reason for not being able to edit your posts after that time limit? i dont care about having my thread bumped. but i like to be orgranized where possible.

    @zombieaddict

    I appreciate your concern, but imagine the chaos! :D

    People able to change thread titles, or what they say after the event could radically change the context of the responses within the threads.

    Now, on the subject of Marketplace threads, I can see that it would be useful. My advice would be to see what sous-chef is on, and ask them to change the title to a new one via a PM.

    I know it's not ideal, but to keep the forums tidy, as you put it, I think the 1 hour lockout is fine.

    On the whole though, I'd hope that people will think before posting - thus largely avoiding the pitfalls you mentioned.

    Hope that helps,

    QS :D
