Items disappear from view

New question... why do actors randomly disappear from view whenever I add a new actor now? I've got foreground and background layers. 2 Actors in foreground. I add actor number three, click preview and now everything is gone... I play with layers for 5 minutes... nothing. I can oddly make one of the actors appear (it's not logical which one ever) and then I try something else and again things are gone. Nothing is deleted but hitting preview is like playing a Vegas slot machine. Who knows what you get...

Could it be that you have Gravity of some type involved in the game, so when you start the game, everything moves? Just a possibility

That doesn't seem to be it. Check this out...

wait for it to load completely (quicktime screen capture movie)

In it I show you the prototype as it is now. Two numbers you touch, they change value and x/y coordinates. Each number is an independent actor. Now I try to add actor 3 which is the same code but with some slightly different values to the layer holding actor's 1 & 2.

Then I rerun the app. Actor 3 never appears. Meanwhile the background items have completely disappeared.

Other times I do the same thing and EVERYTHING is gone. No difference in what I do.

UPDATE: So what I did to get it to work is go back and copy an existing visible element and just drop it in as is, no modifications, and then see it display. Then I changed each item, one-by-one, previewing each time to see if it slipped, I used the move-click interface for each attribute change vs. typing it, I literally baby-walked it to get it to work.

It **seems** between this and other problems I've had today that GameSalad is just very very finicky about how things are configured and what order, etc. It fights you unless you do things very specifically. Don't feel out of the woods yet, instead feel like this is walking on eggshells.
